The “orb” in Orbifolia is no mistake. One look at the nearly-round shaped leaves and you’ll agree. This variety of Calathea is prized for its clean look and glossy foliage. The thick leaves are a lush green color with what appears to be paint-brush strokes of lighter greens and silvers that extend from the center of the leaves to the edges. Like other prayer plant varieties, the leaves of the Orbifollia lower at night and rise in the morning. Only maturing to about 3’ tall, this variety makes a great houseplant or outdoor addition.
